It’s our aim to solve pressing societal and environmental problems, while delivering long term performance. With a broad mandate across a range of different industries and sectors, we select opportunities and projects that align with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including sustainable food production, agricultural technology, healthcare, education, clean energy, and waste minimisation.
Our investments are open to wholesale investors – and New Ground Capital is always open to forging partnerships to expand our impact and create investment opportunities that make a difference.
Housing
Since 2014 we’ve been a pioneer in the Build to Rent (BTR) housing sector, delivering meaningful improvements for renting households and positive returns for institutional investors. Today we continue to build modern and sustainable homes all across New Zealand – and assist with property management through New Ground Living.
Our latest project is establishing a Bay of Plenty-focused affordable housing fund, in association with a number of the region’s investment trusts and local bodies.
Impact Funds
New Ground, with Akina Foundation and Impact Ventures, co-founded New Zealand’s first domestically-focussed impact fund in 2017. This Impact Enterprise Fund has since invested growth capital in multiple commercial ventures to generate meaningful, measurable and scalable social or environmental impacts. Then, in 2022 we established the innovative Homes For Tamariki fund and in 2023 we were appointed to co-manage the Bay of Plenty Housing Equity Fund.
These funds are open to all institutional investors looking to make positive returns that deliver a positive impact all across New Zealand.
